The prickly brown fruit so many of us remember from our childhood backyards reveals incredible textures when altered. Carving away the exterior spikes reveals the honeycomb structure underneath, and sliced, it turns into a button of sophisticated organic lace. It's been amazing to unlock the hidden textures in this one with a jewelry saw.

Remember those prickly brown pods you always found in your yard as a kid? If you slice them open with a jewelry saw, you’ll find they’re full of lace. Or carve away the spikes, and you’ll find a whole structure of hidden caves. We love playing with these slices and carvings of nature’s lace.
